Where's the Anwar trial news-report? On page 29!

The Star is at it again. It appears to be purposely marginalising the reports on the Anwar trial. This time, its report on the trial appears on page 29 - a small report at the bottom.

The Anwar trial is no ordinary trial. It has attracted world attention. Prominent international civil rights and legal groups have sent observers to the trial.

It is also former deputy premier Anwar's last avenue of appeal in the legal process after six years of incarceration. Amnesty International regards Anwar a "prisoner of conscience."

Contrast the treatment of the Anwar trial to the frontpage story yesterday of the Cannie Ong trial and the prominent reports on page 3 and page 4 today of two other murder trials.

So why is the Anwar trial news-report sidelined when it is of far greater global interest?
