Sign our online petition to the PM
The Coalition has set up an online petition to the Prime Minister urging him to make no further move towards the implementation of a compulsory health insurance scheme until there has been a full explanation of the details to the people and an open discussion with all interested groups.
We need people to express their concern and sign the petition. Please do your bit.
The Coalition has also been going on a road-show around the country presenting talks to raise public awareness. To finance this and our other activities, we need funds.
Please support our work by mailing a cheque (made payable to Aliran) to 103 Medan Penaga, 11600 Penang. On the reverse side of the cheque, please write "Coalition Against Health Care Privatisation". It is important to write this; otherwise, the donation will be deemed to be for Aliran.

I find it strange that only 370 signatures have been collected so far when there were 400 demonstrators and 81 organisations against it.
Perhaps if you provide the html for bloggers to cut and paste for your appeal, you will get more to sign?

How about govt doctors ? Who is taking care of us ?
The basic pay is low and the on call allowance is at the level of a factory worker.
A HO on call 24 hours weekday gets RM100 , the doctor needs to stay in the hospital and awake every minute ! An 24 hours weekend / public holiday call gets RM110.
Can you do the calculation !
A medical officer on call 24 hours week gets RM150 and weekend / public holiday gets RM170.
This is RM6.25 per hour and RM7.08 per hour respectively.
So how about helping us ?
