Law and order have completely broken down in the Perak State Assembly. What we are witnessing today is a farce that has brought down the dignity of the State Assembly.

This may be the first occasion in the entire history of parliamentary democracy when two separate Assemblies have met under one roof simultaneously presided over by two Speakers, with two different agendas tabled and debated.

This circus will be the order of the day when parliamentary procedures and principles are ignored, frustrating the will of the people by underhand tactics with the assistance of corrupt politicians. Anarchy reigns supreme in the Perak State Assembly today.

This is what is to be expected when the majority mandate of Perakians are nullified by three unscrupulous political "frogs" who betrayed their mandate by switching parties and making a mockery of parliamentary democracy.

For this chaotic situation in the Perak State Assembly, the Barisan Nasional must be held accountable. It is they who masterminded the toppling of the Perak Pakatan State Government. It was our Prime Minister who engineered the fall of a duly elected government of the people. For all his talk of democracy and 1Malaysia, he has miserably failed to unite the people or persuade them to share his vision for the nation.

This is not the government the people wanted or elected or supported. This is the government thrust upon them by foul means. They don’t feel themselves as part of this undemocratically foisted government.

Even at this stage, it is never too late to right the grievous wrong to put matters right. The only solution is to dissolve the Perak State Assembly to seek a fresh mandate of the people. If the BN is very confident and is convinced that Perakians are solidly behind the BN, this is the time to put that belief to the test.

The only way to resolve this impasse is for the Sultan to dissolve the Assembly to pave the way for fresh elections. Let the people of Perak decide!

    Dear Sir,

The 3 Frogs, strictly speaking, declared themselves as Independents - therefore they are neither BN members nor PR members.

The sitting arrangements should therefore be in Blocks -
    1. For BN ADUNs.
    2. For PR ADUNs.
    3. For Independents ADUNs.

Then lets see how the 3 Frogs behave or react (without the physical closeness of BN ADUNs).

    Worth a thought ?

It is a real shame for a country with tremendous potential to be developed remain undeveloped because of the Power needed to prolong corruption. The fear of losing power has turned the country now LAWLESS. The PM's plan to CHANGE are WORDS AND TAGLINES FOR SUPPORT. Pray that God's power to ruin this dark power which is not from Him.

  • Isma  - The state of Perak

Words really fail anyone trying to rationalise the situation in Perak. It is really simply a reflection of the state in this country. UMNO as the wily wielders of power in this country simply refuses to give it up inspite of obviously wanton and blatant abuse of that power. All this abuse is costing Malaysia dearly in terms of lost opportunity and all for what? To support a mere political party. They claim to embrace 1Malaysia without giving up Ketuanan whathaveyou. Whatever the PM proclaims, UMNO cannot really change, for to do so would gurantee its destruction. The only possible change is purely cosmetic and thats what they're doing. Violence is unthinkable but can anyone propose anything else other than revolutionary change, hopefully through highly effective civil disobedience under a Ghandi-like personage?
